What Fragments is
Fragments: Pieces of Me is a memoir told in short, deliberate pieces. Each one a moment that shaped a life lived across continents, professions and versions of self.
It moves between the boardroom and the kitchen table, between faith and doubt, between the woman other people needed and the one who was quietly waiting underneath. It is about what we set down in order to succeed, and what it takes to pick those parts back up.
Written with the precision of a negotiator and the tenderness of someone who has finally stopped performing, it is a book for anyone who has ever been whole in private and in pieces in public.
Why I Wrote It
I spent years being excellent in rooms that never asked who I was.
Fragments began as private writing. Notes made late, after long days of negotiating other people's disagreements, about the parts of my own life I had quietly set aside to keep performing.
It is a book about ambition and the price of it. About faith, grief, motherhood, migration and the strange loneliness of achievement. About what it means to be a woman of colour at the top of professional life, and what it takes to come home to yourself afterwards.
It is not a triumphant book. It is an honest one. If you have ever held yourself together in pieces, I think you will recognise yourself in it.

There is a particular kind of tiredness that comes from being the calmest person in every room. It does not arrive at the end of the day. It arrives years later, in a quiet kitchen, when there is finally no one left to reassure.
I had built a life that worked. Files closed, deals signed, everybody settled. And still I would sit in the car afterwards for a few minutes longer than I needed to, engine off, holding the steering wheel, not quite ready to go inside and be someone else's everything.
That pause in the car is where this book began.
